Spring 2023 Music Reel
Hello, all. Life has been predictably terrible these past few months, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that things will either continue on with the same level of goodness or possibly get better! You know how it is, I’m sure.
I’ve written a pretty good amount of music over the past few years, and so I’ve put together a little selection of some my ditties I like best. Most of this is ambient music for our actual play podcast (that has yet to be published!), the TTRPG I’m currently writing, and other things like boss fight music Devin has commissioned for his TTRPG or things I made because I was feeling inspired.
My “style” is mainly electronic, because I personally find that the most fun kind of music to make, but I’ve done some acoustic and acoustic-sounding music that I like, too.
So, without further ado, please enjoy this sample of my music! I had lots of fun writing all of these ♡
Music from: Hard to Starboard!
This is an ambient track that plays during the one-on-one sessions our DM does with our amnesiac dragonborn party member. The song has a spooky vibe that I think captures the feeling of his recurring nightmares about drowning in the ocean.
This is an ambient track that plays in the city of Sandport. In game, the city is known as a relatively small tourist destination with a lot of ‘high class’ attractions. The song has a more relaxed feeling that I think captures the beachy sunset vibe of the island.
This is an ambient track that plays in the city of Vardi. In the game, the city is massive, with a floating market in the center, and many, many businesses surrounding it. The tracking is fast-paced, with wilder percussion elements to show all the hustle and bustle of Vardi.
This is an ambient track that played during a pivotal fight in our campaign; our sloop had been boarded by a number of Sahuagin, and our captain had taken a hit so bad he was rolling death saves while we fought them off! The song is fast-paced, and a bit dramatic in places, while still being fun and upbeat.
Music from: Tautology
This is an ambient track that will play during, you guessed it, quiet moments of the game! The song has a slower pace that indicates things have slowed down in the game, but the chord progressions hint that there’s still more to come.
This is a character theme for the questionable scientist the party will meet in Heavarin (the space station where the story takes place). The song has a mechanical feeling, that I think captures the feeling of an eccentric scientist. Will he help you or harm you? Who knows!
This is an ambient track that will play while the party is traveling through “hyperspace.” The decrepit ship they fly in was built by an insectoid race of beings, and I think the song does a good job of capturing that feeling. This song is one of my absolute favourite things I’ve ever made, so I do hope you like it!
Commissions or Requests
CAUTION: this is still a demo, and the bass is very heavy!
This is a boss fight theme for a goofy, devil-type character. The commissioner is very happy with this song, which makes me happy, too! It has multiple “phases” that bounce back and forth, which captures the feeling of a dark, ominous villain that is difficult and unpredictable to fight, while still staying true to his “silly” nature.
Personal Work
This is a song I did for fun :3 It’s a bit Deadmau5-esque, especially in the beginning, but I had a lot of fun working on it. I worked on this for longer than I usually spend on a song, but it was very fun to pick at here and there. There’s no story for this one, just an upbeat electronic song.
I was feeling very inspired to write something super funky, and this is what came out! I really like this one, even though, in my opinion, it’s a bit simple.
Well, that’s all for today! I hope you enjoyed listening, and feel free to message me if you have any thoughts or questions! I’ve found that making music has been a really enjoyable way to get out all those tough emotions that I can’t otherwise express, even if it’s through simple or sweet-sounding songs.
Thanks so much for being here ♡
